Learn AO fracture management principles for spine injuries and disorders April 22 and 23
AO Spine North America Principles courses are intended to address the additional training needs and practice gaps of orthopedic and neurological spine residents. Expert teaching faculty from both surgical fields will instruct participants in the AO Principles of fracture management as applied to spine injuries and some basic spinal disorders.
Participants will access live Zoom™ sessions and self-study materials through Totara, our one-stop-shopping online portal.
Enrollment is limited to orthopedic and neurological surgery residents.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to |
Perform a complete neurological assessment, including imaging, to identify potentially unstable spinal injuries |
Classify the injury according to fracture morphology, instability, and neurological status |
Apply principles of bone and soft tissue healing when treating spinal injuries |
Assess evidence-based operative and non-operative treatment options |
Identify the anatomic and biomechanical issues in a spinal fixation |
